Update - It's About Time

The northern lights dancing with the full mon - Picture taken Spring, 2016.

It has been far too long since I last made an update to this site. I'll try to keep this post nice and short, and I promise to update the page more frequently from now on.

I am much better at updating my Instagram account (@I_couldlivehere), so make sure you follow me there if you're interested in seeing pictures of the northern lights, the starry skies and some beautiful sunsets. And of the dog, of course.

Last time you heard from me, I had just started making my bucket list, and was hoping to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in September or early October this year. Those plans were put aside when I suddenly came across the perfect apartment. I decided to postpone all travel plans, and buy my dream home instead.

When the skies exploded!

Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis dance
“She looked directly up into the northern lights
and she wondered if those cold-burning spectres
might not draw her breath, her very soul,
out of her chest and into the stars.”
― Eowyn Ivey

Last night was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life. We had the most amazing northern lights (Wiki link for those that want to read more about them)I have ever seen, and watching nature putting on such a spectacular show simply left me speechless.

There's no way to describe the beauty of seeing the sky explode in green and purple. And none of my pictures does it justice.

But all in all I had an awesome week with three bouldering sessions and lots of hiking with the dog.

And I have pretty much decided on the dates for my trip to Kilimanjaro. Now it's just a matter of getting all the practical stuff in order, and make sure that I'm in excellent shape to do the hike.

I wish you all a wonderful week!

For me, tonight might be another night of hunting the gorgeous Aurora Borealis - something that should be considered an extreme sport as it involves a lot of hiking in the dark through forests and unknown paths in order to find the perfect spot.

And the rest of the week will be devoted to work, training and rock climbing.

Into the woods...

Clouds reflection lake

“It would seem from this fact, that man is naturally a wild animal,
and that when taken from the woods,
he is never happy in his natural state,
'till he returns to them again.”
Benjamin Rush

As you walk through the forest, finding your own paths, you come to a small clearing looking out across a small lake.

You close your eyes, take a deep breath and just stand there, completely still for a few minutes. And your mind and body feels start to feel lighter, almost as though the nature around you is flowing through your veins, calming down your mind and decreasing your heart rate.
