Have you always dreamt about living in a castle, a place where the walls are filled with history and where you can almost feel what life was like some hundred years ago? Then maybe this is the right property for you.

About 14 miles north of Perth, Perthshire in Scotland lies this beautifully kept castle-like home.

Though probably built as a hunting tower and moated keep, Tower of Lethendy is located about 4 miles south of Blairgowrie. Its story dates back to 1570 when it was built by Sir David Herring, laird of Lethendy and Glasclune.

The original structure was a three story tower with thick walls. And above the entrance door was a panel with the date 1678 and the Herring's family coat of arms.

In 1885, Major Gammell of Drumtochty had the old tower converted into a kitchen and servants' apartments, and new addition were built in the Scottish Baronial style by Andrew Heiton. And a part of the old moat that once surrounded the keep is now a part of the extensive gardens.

The tower has since been given a complete restoration in 1995 by its Canadian owner, and the grand home includes a 3 reception, 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a sauna, a massage room, and a grand library with oak book shelving.

In addition to the main tower, the beautiful 39-acre estate also includes an orchard, two gate lodges and two cottages, a private golf course, heated swimming pool and two tennis courts, just to name some. It is truly a stunning place to call home.

I imagine walking around in the gardens would seem like something out of a Jane Austin novel.

Life in Perthshire sounds like something out of a dream too, as there are plenty of things to do if you'd like to venture outside of the estate.

There are plenty of farmers' markets and pick your own farms where you can get delicious, fresh and healthy food while supporting the local farmers. Or you could go out to dine out, one of your options include a two Michelin-star restaurant.

And for activities, there at lots to chose from, ranging from music festivals to white water rafting - or my two favorites; Archery and wall climbing.

Should you be interested in buying this lovely Scottish property, it can be yours for £4,600,000, that's about 7,100,000 US dollars. Visit Vladi Private Islands for more pictures and more information.

I don't know if the armour in the picture above is included in the sale, but I can't help thinking: Wouldn't it be fun to dress this place up for Halloween?

And finally, while searching for information about the property, I came across these old pictures of the Tower of Lethendy in Tour Scotland's blog.

PS. There were some rumours earlier about Taylor Swift purchasing this place to live close to boyfriend Calvin Harris' parents.
